Subhash Modak has a career spanning 29 years in Mahindra & Mahindra Limited - Farm Equipment Sector. He has worked in the entire supply chain right from Suppliers, Manufacturing & Marketing. His interesting career began with the gear shop as Trainee Engineer after his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from the College Of Engineering, Pune. Soon he rose to the position of Manager - Lt machine shop. |
In his capacity as manager, he handled various aspects of manufacturing and production planning along with harmonious Industrial Relations. He was then selected to lead the "Manufacturing System Design Team" from a cross-section of 450 Officers, under "Business Process Re-Engineering", one of the crucial Mahindra Top Gear programmes to revamp the company as a first step towards "global leadership". He introduced the concept of New Manufacturing Architecture in 1994, which then was implemented & resulted in phenomenal productivity rise of 125%. Consequently, he was promoted to lead the entire "Engine Product Unit".
During his tenure, Subhash developed and implemented world class engine assembly on the concept of progressive 'J bars' with the help of DTI-ATT, UK. Interestingly, he also handled co-operative canteen settlement and brought in the concept of "Labour Productivity". As a re-engineering authority, he was then entrusted the task of revamping "Suppliers" and "Dealers" to achieve effective "Supplier Transformation" and also to achieve systematic sales process through implementation of "Mahindra Sales System". His hobbies include reading, driving and learning new skills. |
