EMRI
Call 108.

In 2005, Mahindra Satyam partnered with the Emergency Management and Research Institute to provide comprehensive emergency response services through a toll-free number—108. We provide all technical support, putting our cutting edge communications technology to work to deliver the quickest response possible to any distress call, be it a medical, police, or fire related emergency.
More than 2,600 ambulances are now on call in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, and Madhya Pradesh. As of 2009, we’ve reached about 147 million people, saved 40,000 lives, and employed 8,500 people. By 2011, we plan to cover the entire nation—more than 1.1 billion people—with 10,000 ambulances and employ 100,000 people. Using our world-class technical expertise, we help reduce response time, save lives, and ease suffering.
Our positive-impact innovation has earned us several awards, including the 2006 Best CSR Award from the Institute of Technology and Management (ITM) Business School and Daily News and Analysis (DNA); the 2007 TERI Corporate Award for the best CSR initiative; the Presidential NENA Award for 108 Emergency Services in Andhra Pradesh in 2007; the 2007 Microsoft Citizenship Partner Award for the best application developed for EMRI, including an award of US $50,000 to EMRI; the 2008 Pink Slip Award; the 2008 Computer World Award; and the eIndia 2008 Award for Best NGO Initiative.
