Zest Big Beach resort reopens post Cyclone Thane

Bigger, better and full of Zest!

 

Puducherry, May 3rd   2012: Zest, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Ltd’s., second offering in the vacation ownership space after Club Mahindra, today announced the reopening of its flagship Zest Big Beach Resort at Pondicherry which was severely damaged during  Cyclone Thane. Located 5km off the Cuddalore coast and spread across 24 acres of spectacular beach front property, Zest Big Beach is one of Puducherry’s biggest resorts. To celebrate the reopening, the resort has invited all those guests who were present at the resort when the cyclone struck, for a complimentary stay.

 

Zest Big Beach Resort found itself at the epicenter of Cyclone Thane and was severely damaged by winds in excess of 140 kmph and torrential rains. The damage to the property was considerable with roof destroyed and window panes shattered. Today, four months later, the resort is reopening with 41 of the total 125 rooms operational. Known for its high levels of attention and customer centricity, the staff will once again welcome members who were at the resort on the night that the cyclone struck. With tremendous resilience and grit the team at Big Beach resort went about rebuilding after the Cyclone had left it devastated. From cleaning the debris 4 months back on that fateful day to ensure that all the members left safely, the team has come a long way.
