(M&M Ltd.), India’s leading SUV manufacturer, today announced that the Xylo, one of India’s most popular MPVs (multipurpose vehicles), has crossed the milestone of 1 lakh plus vehicles on Indian roads. With its stylish looks and user friendly features, the Xylo has carved out a distinct place for itself within the Indian MPV segment.
With the launch of the Stylish New Xylo in this year, which boasted of 50 new changes and features, the Xylo has been instrumental in providing the ‘Time of your Life’ to its customers. It also includes five variants powered by three distinct engine options including the powerful 120 BHP m Hawk engine. Further, a high level of customer satisfaction with the Xylo has enabled it to command a market share of 25% in FY 2012 (SIAM, UV2 Category), in the core segment of MPVs.

It has won the ‘MPV of the year’ award from ET Zigwheels, ‘UV of the year’ award from CNBC Overdrive and NDTV Profit. It was also awarded the ‘Family Car of the year’ by BBC Top Gear. The Xylo was rated highest in ‘Customer satisfaction and best suited for urban women’ in the HT Mars survey of 2010. Xylo has also entered the Limca book of records for fastest west east rally by a 4 wheel vehicle.

We recently had the launch of the new television commercial (TVC) for the recently launched, ‘Stylish New Xylo’. The new TVC continued with the Xylo’s brand promise of ‘Time of your life’, and aimed to give a whole new dimension to Xylo’s first makeover. Ace fashion photographer, Atul Kasbekar, continued as brand endorser as he moved around town with his glamorous, long legged models. The Mahindra Xylo brand is all about fun, style and having a good time with friends and family, and the new TVC truly lived up to the brand’s philosophy of enabling people to have the ‘Time of their Life’.
It further strengthened the consumer connect with Happy Legs Fashion Shows and a tie-up with the Kingfisher Calendar. The Time of your life Karaoke Contest by Mahindra Xylo and 94.3 Radio One extended this value proposition to the corporate arena. The contest received an overwhelming response this year and continued with the positive momentum it gathered in the previous year. All these initiatives were in sync with the brand’s philosophy of enabling people to have the ‘Time of their Life’.
To further enhance the brand’s engagement with its consumers, ensure direct interaction and help the owner understand his Xylo experience better, Xylo Driveathons were organized across various cities to focus on the vehicle’s superior mileage. Having set new benchmarks in luxurious space and comfort during road travel, the Xylo was also a fitting partner to Mayur and Rocky’s popular gastronomic trails, ‘Highway on my Plate’ which featured on NDTV Good Times.
All these initiatives garnered strong consumer connect and the Xylo was ranked No. 1 in the MUV/SUV category as per the HT – Mars Customer Satisfaction Survey 2010. The survey recognized the Xylo as a proven hit in terms of “sales and customer satisfaction”. Further, amongst cars across all segments, the Mahindra Xylo featured at the 6th position, ahead of its immediate competitor, in total satisfaction.
