AND THE AWARD GOES TO…  

As the group scaled new heights, the world and the country sat up and took notice.The group's efforts to excel in all areas have been recognised and rewarded at home and abroad. We relive the proud moments.

1970

October 1970, the 10,000th tractor manufactured by ITCI was handed over by Mr. B. R. Sule, Director ITCI to Mr. RFS Talyarkhan, Chairman of Voltas Limited.

1983

M&M became the market leader in the Indian tractor market - a position retained by the company to date.

2003

Scorpio receives a host of prestigious awards, including "Car of the Year" from Business Standard Motoring; "Best SUV of the Year" and "Best Car of the Year" from BBC on Wheels; "Car of the Year" from CNBC Auto Car.

The Scorpio is declared CNBC Auto Car "Car of the Year 2003".

FES bagged the prestigious Deming Prize for Excellence in Quality, making it the first tractor company in the world to receive this honour - the result of dedicated and persistent efforts of the FES team towards satisfying customers and improving product performance through application of TQM.

AS became the proud recipient of the prestigious National Award for R&D 2003 in recognition of its pioneering R&D efforts which culminated in the indigenously engineered and highly successful vehicle, the Scorpio.

The Ministry of Power conferred upon M&M the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award for the year 2003.

Auto Sector bags the TPM Excellence Award.

2004

Mahindra Tractors achieved the sale of its one millionth tractor becoming the first Indian tractor company to gain this grand distinction.

"Scorpio" won Business Standard's "Brand Derby" for the most successful brand launch.

"Scorpio" bagged the "Best SUV in Total Customer Satisfaction" in the SUV segment in NFO Automotive's Total Customer Satisfaction Study.

AS's Kandivli Plant bagged the TS 16949 Certification by RWTUV for all the major processes including marketing and R&D.

AS's Kandivli plant awarded the TPM Excellence Award by Japan Institute of Plant Management.

Automotive Division's Overseas Operations received the regional highest exports trophy 2000-01 from the Engineering Exports Promotion Council.

M&M was successfully certified as compliant with BS:7799 Part 2:2002.

FES wins the Golden Peacock National Quality Award 2004.

2005

The Farm Equipment Sector won the Golden Peacock National Training Award-Special Commendation in recognition of excellence in training practices adopted by all employees.

Auto Sector bagged the 2nd prize for Excellence in Supply Chain Management, organised by S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. The competition was open to all Indian companies.

Farm Equipment Sector won The Golden Peacock National Quality Award 2004, instituted by Institute of Directors in Manufacturing (Large) category.

M&M was successfully certified as compliant with BS:7799 Part 2:2002 Information Security Management System.

Mr. Bharat Doshi, Exec. Director, Finance & Corporate Affairs, M&M, declared India's Best CFO by Business Today.

Automotive Sector received "Commendation for Significant Achievement in Human Resource" from CII (WR).
