Presently C.E.O. of Strategic Sourcing Business Unit, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., i.e. for all the locations at Mumbai, Nasik, Igatpuri, Zaheerabad, Nagpur, Rudrapur & Haridwar.

In his current capacity, he heads the functions of Strategic Sourcing, Supplier upgradation, Commercials, Global Sourcing and Contract Sourcing. He has 37 yrs. of experience in the Sourcing/Purchasing field.

He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune, and with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Bombay University.

In 1991, his paper on “Juran Quality Improvement Project” was adjudged the Best Paper in a National Convention and he was invited to present this paper in the Asia Pacific Conference held at Malaysia.

In 1994 he was one of the three senior officers deputed to UK for training in Business Process Re-engineering and subsequently was instrumental in the re-engineering of both Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors of Mahindra & Mahindra & was in-charge of establishing Strategic Sourcing as a process within M & M.

Actively involved in the purchasing/sourcing functions of our joint ventures with Ford, Renault and International Truck & Engine Corpn.

He was the National Councilor of Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) & currently he is an invitee member of IIMM. He is also recipient of IIMM’s Unitop Award of the year 2003.

He has always been an avid sports enthusiast. He was very proficient in Cricket in his younger days captaining the school, college, and University and Zonal teams. Also proficient in other games like badminton, table tennis and chess. He presently is the Sports Secretary of the Company & looks after the “Mahindra United” Football team which won the National Championship last year.
