Mr. Rakesh Kalra joined Mahindra International Limited Ltd on 1st December 2006 as Chief Executive Officer. He was soon re-designated as Managing Director. Mahindra International Ltd is a joint venture company promoted by Mahindra & Mahindra and International Truck and Engine Corporation of USA for manufacturing full range of commercial vehicles for the domestic as well as the world markets.

Mr. Kalra has vast experience in the automobile industry. He studied Mechanical Engineering at BITS, Pilani and started his career with Bharat Electronics Limited, Bangalore who is engaged in manufacturing radar equipments for armed forces.

Before joining Mahindra’s, he worked at Eicher Motors Limited as MD/CEO and took the company to great heights. During his career span of about 21 years with Eicher, he steered the company to a prominent position in the commercial vehicle industry and above all, built and synergized capabilities to develop a completely indigenous heavy commercial vehicle that is suited to the needs of Indian customer.

He has played an active role as a member if CII - M.P. Council and CII – Western Region Council.

He is on the Board of Indore Management Association. He also served as a member of IIM – Indore and its Board of Governors till recently. He chairs the Board of Governors at the Asian School of Business Management, Bhubneshwar.
