IGATPURI


Igatpuri is a place in Maharashtra, located in the Western Ghats. Not only is it known for its temples, it is surrounded by the highest peaks in Sahyadari i.e. Western Ghats, most of them are forts built in Satavahana dynasty. The station lies between Mumbai and Bhusaval and the trains on this route usually change locomotives on this stop.

The Plant

 

Set in this scenic and beautiful place this plant is specially dedicated to making engines that give Auto sector's customers agreat combination of power and mileage. The manufacturing and production of most of the engines namely the NEF Engine, MDI Engine and XD3 Engine takes place at this plant. The total plant area is 98.84 acres with a built up area of 11.54 acres. Around 167 officers and 702 workmen are stationed at this plant.

MDI Engine

The manufacturing facilities present at the plant include Assembly lines, Machining lines, Testing facilities and Captive Aluminium Foundry. The plant has an Assembly Capacity of 450 Engines per day

 

Technology Update

 

The State of the Art Engine Assembly line is now equipped with Integrated quality assurance which includes Advanced cold testing including NVH, Engine leakage Checking, Crank shaft Torque to Turn and 97 Poka-Yokes planned. Material, Quality & Maintenance Andon buttons have been placed on all stages of the assembly

Eagle Assembly Line

The Machine Shop for 'Eagle' is now equipped with Flexible Machining setup with Heller Machining Centres (Heller MCH250 for Eagle Block Machining), Makino Machining Centres (Makino A61 for Eagle Head Machining), Landis Cam Grinding and Nagel Block Honing
