Anoop Mathur joined the Mahindra group in January 2007 as Senior Advisor in the Office of Vice Chairman & MD. His role envisaged strategic business development and evaluating new lines of businesses. He has played a key role in building the Centre for Rural Information & Insights (CRI) and leads this initiative through the CRI team.

Anoop has been instrumental in the acquisition of the Pune-based, Kinetic Motor Company Ltd. (KMCL), and the Mahindra group’s diversification in the Two-Wheeler Sector. He was appointed President Two–Wheeler Sector in December 2008 and has been inducted into the Group Management Board from April 2009, designated as President Two-Wheeler Sector and Member of the Group Management Board

Anoop is on the Boards of Mahindra Two-Wheeler Limited, Mahindra Shubhlabh Services Ltd., Bristlecone Ltd., USA and Mahindra China Tractor Company Ltd., China. In addition, he also serves as a Member of the Remuneration Committee of Bristlecone Ltd., USA.

Prior to joining M&M, Anoop was Executive Director, Technology and Exports and Member of the Management Committee of Hindustan Lever Ltd. (HLL) since 1999. His earlier assignments were as Executive Chairman / CEO of Hind Lever Chemicals, Executive Director, Chemicals, Agri and Specialities, Hindustan Lever and Technical Director of Unilever, South Africa.

Anoop is a B.Tech Chemical Engineering from I.I.T. Kanpur and started his career with Hindustan Lever Ltd. as a Management Trainee. He went on to hold senior positions in Operations, Strategic Planning, Global Strategic Alliances, Domestic & International Marketing, Supply Chain & Product / Technology Development.

He has done the Advanced Management Programme of the Wharton Business School, USA and the Advanced Supply Chain Programme of Princeton University, USA.
