Castings

Our Mahindra Castings facility is the largest independent ductile iron foundry in India with an annual capacity of 40,000 metric tons.  Strategically located in Pune, a global auto hub, we enjoy synergies with other automotive companies.  We produce turbo charger housings, crankshafts, and axle parts for commercial vehicles, continuously updating our technology and processes to deliver our customers the best in castings.

We use top-of-the-line technology to create our designs, relying on CATIA, 3D modeling, and predictive ProCAST simulation of the entire casting process.  Our plant is equipped with two molding lines, a sand plant, melting furnaces, and a pouring car.  Our core shop includes cold box machines, shot blasting, and extensive quality assurance capabilities through a vacuum emission spectrometer, ultrasonic testing, hardness testing, tensile testing, imagine analyzer, CMM, and endoscope.

We perform the machining of turbine housing in-house and plan to expand our capabilities into machined parts and aggregates.  For products we cannot machine ourselves, we partner with the world-class supplier base in Pune.
