Mahindra Automotive Sector, Haridwar guides retired Gorkha soldiers

Mumbai: In a unique initiative under the aegis of its Employee Social Options Program (ESOPs), employees of Mahindra’s Automotive Sector at Haridwar conducted a session on re-settlement of retired Gorkha soldiers. Six ESOPs volunteers along with members of the Gorkha resettlement Training Centre (GRTC) spoke about disaster management & Industrial Security to the Gorkha Regiment with the aim to help them undertake security assignments at a post retirement stage.


The Gorkha soldiers displayed enthusiasm and were active participants in the question & answer session that followed the presentation. Present on the occasion were members of Mahindra’s Haridwar Plant, along with Col Ismail, Commandant of the Gorkha resettlement Training Centre, who was visibly delighted and grateful for the guidance and counseling offered.


Mahindra employees volunteered for the camp under the aegis of ESOPs (Employee Social Options) programme that was initiated by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on the occasion of its 60th anniversary in 2005. ESOPs is a special programme for Mahindra employees to collectively donate thousands of human hours for various social projects. Various ESOPs initiatives have been undertaken by employees across the country. These include painting of schools, blood donation camps, planting trees & saplings, traffic management during festivals, supporting the underprivileged girl child and flood affected people in various parts of the country, adopting orphanages and many others.
