Mahindra World City,Jaipur goes LIVE with its new Manufacturing Zone

Jaipur: Mahindra World City (MWC), Jaipur, a multi-product Special Economic Zone and part of the $6.3 billion Mahindra Group, went live with its brand new manufacturing zone through handicrafts giants, Ratan Textiles setting up their state-of-the-art production facility. The Manufacturing Zone is spread over _______ acres.

 

Ratan Textiles will make a projected investment of Rs 1430 lakhs, and will manufacture made ups[21] , home furnishings and handmade paper products in Mahindra World City, Jaipur. Its manufacturing unit will be spread over 2 acres and will provide employment opportunities to approximately 530 people.

 

MWC, Jaipur is a 3000 acre multi-product SEZ with exclusive IT, Auto Ancillary, and Logistics zones, with an envisaged investment of Rs. 10,000 crore and projected employment of 1 lakh. It is a 74:26 joint venture between Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. (MLDL) and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Industrial Corporation (RIICO).

 

Speaking at the launch, Mr. B. Subbaiah, Chief Operating Officer, Mahindra World City, Jaipur, said, “I am delighted at the launch of the Manufacturing Zone at Mahindra World City, Jaipur, and welcome Ratan Textiles to our fold. MWC, Jaipur has established itself as a destination of choice for leading domestic and global organizations within a short span of time. I am confident that the Manufacturing zone will evolve into a centre of excellence for the entire industry.”

 

Speaking at the event, Mr. ____, of Ratan Textiles said, “We are proud to set up our production unit at MWC, Jaipur. With a committed team at Ratan Textiles and MWC Jaipur’s superlative commitment to quality & world class infrastructure support, I am certain that we will scale new heights.”

 

Mahindra World City, Jaipur at full capacity occupancy & operations level is expected to attract investment of over Rs.10,000 crores. This will create direct employment for approximately 100,000 people and indirect employment for over 1,50,000 people. It will exports goods and services of more than US$1billion year on year.

 

Mahindra World City, Jaipur, has been identified as part of a list of 16 projects globally, which are being supported by the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), a foundation for sustainable development promoted by Former US President Bill Clinton. Only 2 of these projects are India-based, and Mahindra World City, Jaipur is one of these. The Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) is a program of William J. Clinton Foundation, which is an exclusive implementing partner of the C40 Large Cities Climate Leadership Group.

As part of this dream, the first phase of IT/ITeS SEZ is fully operational with Infosys and Deutsche Bank already started their operations. Other clients which are setting up their campuses in the 750 acre IT/ITeS SEZ include Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Nagarro, Connexions, Truworth to name a few. The development work on the other two notified zones is going full throttle. 34 companies have already signed-up with MWCJ which includes names like Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Deutsche Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, EXL, Connexions, Truworth, Nucleus Software, Nagarro Software, Girnar Soft, QH Talbros, Dynamic Cables, Poly Medicure, Genus, etc.
