STATUTORY REPORTS | Board’s Report 149 SECTION 134(3)(m) OF THE COMPANIES ACT, 2013 READ WITH RULE 8(3) OF THE COMPANIES (ACCOUNTS) RULES, 2014 IS FORMING PART OF THE BOARD´S REPORT FOR FY26 (A) Conservation of Energy Your Company is strongly committed to sustainable business practices, with a particular focus on environmental stewardship. Energy efficiency is a central priority in safeguarding natural resources, while also contributing to lower carbon emissions across all activities and strengthening financial performance in line with its “Mission Sustainability”. As the first Indian organization to sign the EP100 (Energy Productivity 100%) initiative, using 2009 as the baseline year and originally targeting achievement by 2030 under the Climate Group’s leadership, your Company exceeded this goal well ahead of schedule. In addition, the Company has set an ambitious objective to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. It has also adopted Science Based Targets (SBTs) to decarbonize its growth trajectory and support global efforts to limit temperature rise to well below 2°C, in accordance with the Paris Agreement of 2015. To support these commitments, your Company has established a detailed roadmap focused on improving energy efficiency and increasing the use of renewable energy. Significant investments continue to be made in energy optimization initiatives, guided by an internal carbon pricing mechanism of USD 10 per tonne of carbon emissions. The following initiatives have been implemented for energy conservation: • Programs aimed at enhancing Energy Efficiency across all the Operations. • A focus on boosting the share of low carbon energy sources. • Adoption of Renewable energy sources for manufacturing processes. • Implementing Digital solutions for online Energy Management Systems across Operations. • Enhancing energy productivity through Process Optimization and Operational Excellence. ANNEXURE VII CONSERVATION OF ENERGY, TECHNOLOGY ABSORPTION AND FOREIGN EXCHANGE EARNINGS AND OUTGO • Promoting Green Initiatives through Internal Carbon Pricing based Investment Decisions. • Raising awareness and promoting sustainability Employee Engagement and Behavioural Change. • Focus on Transport and Logistics Optimization. • Strengthening the Monitoring, Reporting and Continuous Improvement activities. i. The steps taken or impact on conservation of energy • Replacing traditional air circulators with BLDC technology air circulators. • Opting for Smart LED lighting system which can produce the same lux level at lowest energy. • Use of energy-efficient HVAC systems, chillers, and heat pumps. • Installation of variable frequency drives (VFDs) on motors, pumps, and fans. • Optimization of compressed air systems to reduce leaks and energy losses. • Improving oven insulation, reflective roofing, and energy-efficient glazing. • Heat recovery from waste heat streams. • Utilization of onsite and offsite solar and hybrid RE sources. Your Company values employee engagement in driving positive change toward sustainability and has implemented several initiatives, including: • Celebrating National Energy Conservation Week at all facilities with multiple engagement programmes. • Sustainability Month celebration at all Plants. • Annual Sustainability Summit for employees with cross sectoral collaboration and knowledge sharing. • Conducting capability-building programs on Energy and Sustainability for employees and supplier partners. • Hosting competitions for sustainability champions on best initiatives and horizontal deployment. • Engaging with employees’ family members to promote sustainability awareness.
