Mahindra & Mahindra Limited | Integrated Annual Report 2025-26

74 Integrated Annual Report 2025-26 Renewable Energy (RE) Energy transition is pivotal in accelerating our efforts towards achieving carbon neutrality and combating climate emergency. We are swiftly transitioning from hydrocarbons to incorporate cost-effective and eco-friendly energy sources such as solar and wind into our energy portfolio. Our installed capacity of renewable energy has reached 86 MWp, contributing significantly to the emissions reduction. In FY26, M&M's share of renewable electricity stood at 37%. Renewable electricity generation has increased by 7% compared to FY25. Additionally, renewable projects with solar and wind installations are underway which will enhance the renewable share in the overall energy mix. Beyond our operations, we actively advocate for key state-wise policy changes to accelerate RE adoption. Case study: Compressed Air Optimisation at Manufacturing Plants, Auto Division. Kandivali plant undertook a compressed air optimisation project to improve energy efficiency by replacing ageing screw compressors with energy-efficient centrifugal compressors and segregating pressure lines based on actual process demand. The initiative addressed excess energy consumption and reliability issues associated with legacy systems. The upgraded configuration reduced specific power consumption, lowered maintenance intensity and improved uptime across critical operations. The project delivered a measurable reduction in overall plant energy consumption and is designed for replication across other manufacturing locations. Results: Approximately 3% reduction in overall plant energy use, annual cost savings of ~₹0.5 crore, improved reliability and a scalable pathway for plant-level energy efficiency. Water Stewardship Water stewardship is a core element of Mahindra Group’s sustainability approach, designed to balance operational requirements with responsible management of shared water resources. Our efforts focus on improving water efficiency through proactive leak identification, technology enabled monitoring, rainwater harvesting and site level conservation measures, complemented by community-led water rejuvenation initiatives. Through these interventions, we are progressing towards our goal of becoming water positive — replenishing more water than we consume — while reducing environmental risk and strengthening operational efficiency. • Tech Mahindra earned an ‘A’ Leadership score from CDP for water security. • Mahindra Lifespaces targets water positive development and net-zero water use by 2030. • Mahindra Logistics incorporates sustainable water management at its facilities. • Mahindra Susten has achieved 100% water positivity at the portfolio level. Our commitment to responsible water management and conservation spans the entire Group. ~3% Reduction in overall plant energy use ~0.5 (₹ crore) Annual cost savings Environment KPI (for M&M Ltd.)
