Environment Conservation - Jal Samriddhi The Jal Samriddhi initiative of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. focuses on creating long-term water security for farming communities to address the impacts of climate change, which is resulting in rising water stress across India. The programme supports the creation and rejuvenation of water-harvesting structures, promotes soil and water conservation techniques, and encourages crop diversification, thereby strengthening livelihoods and ecosystems. In FY26, the initiative covered 150+ villages across 8 states to drive systemic transformation in a water-scarce zone, bringing together science, sustainability, and social mobilisation. This also included building community capacity through hands-on training and local partnerships, including collaboration with NABARD at Igatpuri, Maharashtra. Jal Samriddhi outcomes have helped improve irrigation potential, raise groundwater levels, and reduce dependency on erratic rainfall. For thousands of farmers, this has provided an opportunity to adopt climate-resilient agriculture and effective water management approaches. FY26 Impact • 853 water harvesting structures created or renovated. • 6,010 lakh litre of water harvesting potential enabled. • 3,793 hectare brought under improved irrigation. • More than 9,000 hectare covered under cumulative water management. • 53,862 farmers and community members benefited.
