The Mahindra Funster concept EV with a convertible mode has already become one of the most photographed vehicles at Auto Expo 2020

Mahindra showcased its exciting new range of electric vehicles under the new ‘Driven by Purpose’ theme at the top Indian automotive industry show, Auto Expo 2020, near New Delhi this week. The display of 18 vehicles includes concept vehicles, electric vehicles, vehicles in the commercial and passenger category, and technology solutions.

Addressing the media on the first day of Auto Expo 2020 on February 5, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said "This year Mahindra enters its 75th year and our clarion call is to develop Sustainable Mobility Solutions for the future. Our core theme this year is Driven by Purpose and this will be the pillar on which we build our next generation products and services."

"Mahindra has always been Driven by Purpose. Years ago, we pioneered SUVs in India with the purpose of Design in India and Make in India. Today everyone is offering SUVs and they represent 1/3rd of all the passenger vehicles sold in India. Almost 10 years ago we pioneered Electric Vehicles in India when no one was thinking of EVs with the purpose of creating a green tomorrow. Today EVs are the central theme for every manufacturer in India," added Dr. Goenka.

Some of the exciting new Mahindra vehicles displayed at Auto Expo 2020 included:

  • Funster- a thrilling roadster electric concept with a fun convertible mode
  • ATOM- a new age electric urban mobility solution for India’s last mile connectivity needs
  • e-XUV300- an electric variant of the popular compact SUV from Mahindra
  • e-KUV100- India’s most affordable EV with best-in-class pricing of Rs. 8.25 lakh

Mahindra also launched the Mahindra Electric Scalable Modular Architecture (MESMA), a first-of-its-kind future electric vehicle architecture. Developed at the Mahindra Research Valley, mStallion, a new range of BSVI ready gasoline engines were also on display at the Expo.
