As part of the impact assessment, Project Nanhi Kali’s After-school and DEFG programmes have been rated as “Exemplary Projects” for its achievements in FY24. This acknowledgment reflects the Project’s robust implementation processes and the substantial goals achievement. 2. Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship (MAITS) Mahindra & Mahindra Limited in partnership with K. C. Mahindra Education Trust, enables students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue employment-oriented diploma education under the Mahindra All India Talent Scholarship (MAITS) programme. Adopting a merit-cum-means selection approach, the scholarship strengthens academic continuity, improves scope of employment, and supports socioeconomic mobility. The programme’s implementation includes a robust mechanism from online applications and document verification to in-person interviews, scholarship disbursements, academic monitoring, and alumni engagement. In FY24, the programme supported 1,150 students across 12 centres in India with a balanced gender distribution. Each candidate receives Rs. 10,000 per annum over a period of 3 years. Stakeholder feedback during the impact assessment highlighted the following outcomes for project initiated in FY24: • 70% of scholarship recipients reported increased confidence in completing their diploma, driven by reduced financial uncertainty and improved academic performance. • 100% of Scholarship recipients used the scholarship exclusively for education-related expenses, including tuition fees, learning materials, and other academic needs. Also, families expressed pride in students receiving the scholarship. • 55% of Scholarship recipients reported strengthened academic and professional credibility, positioning the scholarship as a mark of merit for future career opportunities. • 100% of college representatives reported improved classroom participation and commitment among scholarship recipients. • 50% of Scholarship recipients shared scholarship information with peers or juniors, contributing to word-of-mouth awareness. 3. Mahindra Pride Programme M ahindra & Mahindra Limited partnered with K.C. Mahindra Education Trust & Naandi Foundation to offer skills training courses to young women across multiple states of the country in FY24, to make them more employable. The project comprised two verticals of intervention namely, Mahindra Pride Classroom and Mahindra Pride Skill Centre. The Mahindra Pride Classroom offers shorter duration employability skills course to final-year college students with modules in spoken English, life skills, aptitude, interview preparedness, group discussion, and digital literacy and is done in collaboration with Government recognised colleges/ITI/Polytechnic institutions at a pan India level. The program also facilitates job opportunities through job placement drives known as ‘Job Utsavs’. During FY24, 1,29,227 women were trained under this intervention with the support of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. The Mahindra Pride Skill Centre offers intensive skill training in high demand sectors such as ITES, automotive, hospitality, and organised retail. Apart from this, the trainees are also provided training in spoken English and essential soft skills to equip them with the requisite skills required in the workplace by expert trainers. During FY24, 1,014 women were trained under this intervention with support of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. Stakeholder and beneficiary engagement during the impact assessment process have highlighted the following outcomes for projects initiated in FY24: Mahindra Pride Classroom • 86% of the respondents reported significant improvement in employability skills (communication skills, preparing resumes, confidence in attending interviews, increased awareness of job roles and employer expectations). • 87% of the respondents reported high satisfaction with training quality, highlighting strong trainer support. • 95% of the respondents (Trainers) rated the training curriculum quality as very good, enabling them to deliver sessions effectively.
