83 RISE FOR A MORE EQUAL WORLD | People & Culture Transformational Work Culture Mahindra’s Transformational Work Culture is anchored in a commitment to nurture an engaged, innovative, and empowered workforce. A blend of structured programmes and collaborative practices cultivates an environment where employees, union leaders, and families become active participants in evolving the work culture. A focus on self-managed teams and specialised training initiatives is a key driver of this transformation. Initiatives like TPM, Yashashwini, and behaviour-based safety are complemented by efforts around financial awareness and need-based skill building. Programmes such as ‘Nayi Soch – Naya Drishtikon’ foster a customer centric mindset and develop an outside-in perspective. Suggestion schemes (UDAAN), idea-generation platforms (i4) and recognition awards (Rise Award, Star of the Month, Employee of the Year) strengthen employee morale, reward excellence, and fuel innovation. We reinforce a culture of compliance and professionalism by providing comprehensive training across Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH), Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (ABAC), safety, and human rights to all employees. The organisation also advances inclusive workplace initiatives such as gender-neutral workstations, opportunities for specially-abled associates, and an all-women ‘Pink Line’ assembly. Future-ready skill building remains central, achieved via rigorous training need identification and technical development programmes in robotics, electric vehicle technology, mechatronics, and other emerging fields. Additionally, dedicated employment assistance is provided for diploma trainees via SETU, ensuring employees are equipped to meet technological advancements and industry demands confidently. The Mahindra Skill Excellence platform elevates shop-floor associates by fostering technical proficiency, process discipline, behavioural competencies, and providing skill competitions across specific domains to meet evolving industry demands. The platform had over 2,500 participants across Auto and Farm plants in FY26. Themed celebrations and engagement activities across plants emphasised quality as a shared responsibility. Industrial relations have remained positive and collaborative, marked by amicable settlements, productivity-linked incentive frameworks, and sustained partnerships between management and unions. Long-term wage and bonus agreements, along with strengthened productivity-linked incentive frameworks, were concluded well. Proactive engagement strategies and periodic union meetings have eliminated disputes and fostered mutual trust. These sustained efforts led to zero production losses during the year. Mahindra Logistics, in partnership with L’Oréal India, has operationalised India’s first all-women-operated warehouse in Indore. The site is staffed by 25 women working across the value chain, backed by structured capability building in safety, POSH, self-defence, and shopfloor execution. Beyond representation, the initiative is delivering tangible business outcomes strengthening regional distribution across Central India. It reflects a clear shift from inclusion as intent to inclusion as a performance enabler. Through these multi-faceted efforts, we foster a transformative workplace that balances innovation, inclusivity, compliance, and well-being, ultimately equipping every employee to flourish. Enhanced focus on Health and Safety We uphold rigorous safety standards and continuously refine processes in line with technological advancements and industry best practices. The Employee Health Index serves as an individualised monitoring tool, helping to identify employees who may require focused counselling and support. Regular health parameter check-ups were conducted across plants, expert-led awareness sessions on lifestyle improvement, mental and emotional well-being, nutrition, and mindfulness were conducted regularly for employees and families. As part of ongoing hygiene awareness initiatives, pad care machines and sanitary bins were installed across key plants. Employees also participated in yoga sessions, preventive healthcare programmes, and cancer awareness initiatives. Additionally, digitised safety training kiosks were implemented across manufacturing locations to reinforce safe work behaviours.
