‘Baby Cheetah’ Sprints Ahead

Mahindra has been breaking records in the competitive compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) market ever since the launch of its edgy and stylish XUV300. Surpassing the sales of Ford EcoSport and Honda WR-V for February and March 2019, XUV300 retailed more than 9,000 units within the first 45 days of its launch. The XUV300 also made headlines for becoming the No.3 model in it's segment, within the first month of its launch.

Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “We have received over 13,000 bookings and in the very first month itself, we have entered into the Top 3. This is in-line with our objective of achieving 15 to 20% share of this segment and reaffirms the fact that the XUV300 proposition has resonated well with the customers. What is also encouraging is that over 75% of our bookings are for the top end variants of the XUV300.”

Subcompact SUV sales grew by 23% in 2018, making it the fastest growing segment in the Indian automotive market. Today, four out of every ten SUV sold in India is a compact SUV. Carrying forward the characteristics of the XUV500 with its cheetah-like design and agility, thrilling performance, and advanced technology features, Mahindra is now disrupting this segment with the stylish XUV300. It shares platform with the much-acclaimed SUV SsangYong Tivoli, from the house of the South Korean-based automobile manufacture SsangYong Motor Company.

The lovingly nicknamed ‘ Baby Cheetah’ was launched on Valentine’s Day this year and is attractively priced at Rs. 7.90 lakh for the base W4 petrol variant, and Rs. 8.49 lakh for the base diesel version.
