Mahindra XUV300 – The Safer Choice

Mahindra’s compact SUV model, the XUV300 received the ‘Safer Choice’ award, by the respected Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP). The XUV300 is the first ever car in India to receive this global recognition, by exceeding all the safety standards offered by global car manufacturers.

Between 2014–2020, the GNCAP completed safety assessments on more than thirty-eight vehicles, among them the Mahindra XUV300 is the first ever car to win the ‘Safer Choice’ award as part of the #SaferCarsForIndia campaign.

In January this year, the XUV300 also won a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection, and a 4-star rating for child protection by the GNCAP. The latter was another first for any Indian car.

Commenting on this achievement, Rajan Wadhera, President-Automotive, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “This is a proud moment for Mahindra as the XUV300 receives Global NCAP’s ‘Safer Choice’ award for being the safest car in India, an accolade only available to automakers achieving the highest levels of safety performance for cars sold in the country. The Mahindra XUV300 is the first ever car to score 5-star rating for adult occupants and a 4 star rating for child occupant protection by GNCAP, thereby qualifying for and winning the “Safer Choice” award. I am sure that this recognition, will further spur us to achieve the highest safety for our entire range of vehicles.”

Tech Mahindra Recognized As Global Leader On Climate Action

Tech Mahindra continue to receive global recognition for its effective actions against Climate Change. The company has been recognized as a global leader for the fourth year in a row, being part of the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) Global Supplier A List in 2019. Tech Mahindra is one of only four Indian companies to secure such a position in the list.

CDP, an international Non-Governmental Organization that drives the growth of sustainable economies, has recognized Tech Mahindra’s actions and strategies to reduce emissions and manage climate risks in its supply chain.

Tech Mahindra is among the top 3% of organizations assessed by the CDP, and was among 159 companies that featured on the Leaderboard in 2019. Over 4,800 companies were assessed based on answers to questions about governance, targets, scope 3 emissions and value chain engagement.

Getting on court with the Washington Wizards

The Mahindra Group is all set to enter the basketball courts in the US, having recently signed a deal with the USA’s Monumental Sports and Entertainment (MSE) company to sponsor their basketball team the Washington Wizards. Mahindra will also be the Official Partner of the National Hockey League team – the Washington Capitals.

According to this partnership, Mahindra will receive in-arena television network advertisements and the Washington Wizards' courtside LED rotational and LED basket stanchion signage.

Influencing the Agri Influencer

Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector recently invited a number of influential You Tubers to visit the company’s Zaheerabad plant which is based in the Indian state of Telangana. This first of its kind initiative was aimed at giving them a deeper insight into this facility which is one of Asia’s largest manufacturing plants.

During the visit, the influencers experienced the new XP Plus tractor range from Mahindra. They received a deep dive into the wide range of tractors from Mahindra and were also familiarised with Mahindra’s dominant presence in the Farm Machinery space.

Most of these influencers are second and third generation farmers, who have moved beyond farming as their primary occupation, to educating fellow farmers about best-practices related to farming. The videos produced by them are watched by large parts of the farming community. With social media becoming an integral part of every individual’s life, the farming community too, looks up to these influencers to be educated about the latest trends in the agricultural sector.

Desert Safari

Mahindra and Mahindra has a rich legacy of building vehicles that are tough, rugged and reliable. With the launch of an experiential company – Mahindra Adventure in 2011, the Group has been offering people the trips of a lifetime.

The Mahindra Adventure team offers enthusiasts an opportunity to experience off-roading in some of Mahindra’s best vehicles including the iconic Thar with its legendary 4X4 capability. Participants can pick from single-day off road adventures known as The Great Escape or multi-day expeditions, to some of the most beautiful places in India and abroad.

Two courses that have recently been introduced by Mahindra Adventure include Snow Survivor which takes place in the snowy mountains of Leh and Desert Survivor which takes place in the sand dunes of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. At the Jaisalmer off-roading facility, participants are treated to a day-time and night-time dune bashing course.

After arriving at the Jaisalmer facility, the participants are taken through a theory session to help them understand the nuances of off-roading, dune-bashing and of the vehicle by a team of experts. Following the classroom-like session, participants are given control of their vehicles and get instructions over radio as they tackle progressively tougher dunes. Participants are also awarded a certificate on the completion of the dune-bashing course, by Mahindra Adventure.
