Pininfarina partners Bosch and Benteler for New Gen EV Platforms

Pininfarina, Bosch and Benteler are forming a strategic collaboration to provide car manufacturers with new modular electric vehicle platforms also known as ‘skateboards’. This collaboration will enable the companies to offer car manufacturers fast prototyping as well as complete vehicle and product development services right up to the start of production.

The prototyping is based on a proven rolling chassis solution from Bosch and Benteler. It provides predefined design, is fully functional and immediately applicable for the development of electric vehicles. This results in considerable time and money saving for the customers and enables them to speed up their time-to-market.

Pininfarina, the globally renowned Italian car designer and engineering provider, will work with its two partners to complement their existing collaboration for the rolling chassis. This comprises the fields of styling and ‘top-hat’ engineering for an optimized link to the car body.

Driven by electric drivetrain megatrends, car manufacturers are increasingly seeking pre-validated system solutions that offer an easy and reliable way to build new electric vehicles from scratch.

Pininfarina, with its 90 years of expertise in the automotive industry, will provide top hat unique style and engineering, successfully integrating the upper body structure with the chassis. Thanks to its expertise as vehicle integrator, Pininfarina owns the knowhow for successfully integrating the single components into the car, in accordance with installation and functionality requirements, and to deliver the right Advanced Driver Auxiliary System integration achieving state-of-the-art performances during driving and parking.


Planting the Seeds For a Sustainable Future

In yet another feather in the cap for the Mahindra Group, it entered the Limca Book of Records for planting a total of 16.4 million trees from 2007 to 2019 as part of its Mahindra Hariyali sustainability initiative. This is part of the group’s efforts to create a sustainable future and to enrich the lives of the communities which it serves.

The group has taken the lead to plant a million trees every year as part of the Mahindra Hariyali initiative which was launched on October 2, 2007. Till March 31, 2019, a total of 16,413,894 trees have been planted in and around the factory premises of the group across India. The group’s corporate social responsibility unit, which drives the effort, also gets the tree plantation audited once every three years.

Along with the planting of the trees, care was also taken to ensure their survivability. The audit of the 2010 to 2015 plantation conducted by the Bombay Natural History Society showed a survival rate of over 70 per cent.


Mahindra launches locally assembled Pick-ups in Kenya

Mahindra & Mahindra’s took its commitment to the Kenya market to the next level with the market launch of its locally assembled pick-ups in the East African country. The new initiative, launched in collaboration with the Simba Corporation, will help strengthen brand Mahindra and make it more relevant to Kenyan customers.

Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Mathew, Chief of International Operations, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “Kenya is a key strategic market for us and we are now fully equipped to deliver products customised to meet local needs, on time.”

“The launch of these locally assembled Pick-ups is a significant step forward for Mahindra in the Kenyan market,” he said, adding “Our partnership with the Simba Corporation will enable us to draw upon mutual synergies for a win-win association.”

Over the years, Mahindra has emerged as a credible player and respected brand in Africa, especially in East Africa. Mahindra’s foray into Kenya will further strengthen the company’s commitment and consolidate its presence in the region. Brand Mahindra, which is now an established global player, will enable its customers in Kenya to Rise, by driving positive change in their lives.


Batting for Indian Farmers

Ajinkya Rahane, Vice-Captain of the Indian Test Cricket team, will be the brand ambassador for MeraKisan, a Mahindra Group company which is a prominent player in the growing organic agri produce market, with a focus on avant-garde organic food supply chains.

Ajinkya who hails from a farming background and is an ardent supporter of farmers, has joined forces with MeraKisan to usher in a new era of safe, traceable and healthy organic food for the increasingly health conscious Indian consumer.

“I am excited to be part of a journey which delivers sustainable prosperity to our farmers through organic farming methods,” Ajinkya Rahane said.

Besides being the brand ambassador, Ajinkya has invested and will also own equity in MeraKisan as part of the partnership. His goal is to contribute toward delivering sustainable prosperity to Indian farmers through the adoption of new-age organic farming techniques which align perfectly with the DNA of MeraKisan.
