K.C. Mahindra Education Trust

The K.C. Mahindra Education Trust was founded in the year 1953, with an objective of promoting literacy and higher learning in the country. It operates with a vision to “Transform the lives of people in India through education, by providing financial assistance and recognition to them, across age groups and income strata”. Over the years, K.C. Mahindra Education Trust has undertaken a number of education initiatives, that have helped address key social issues such as girl child education, and have put thousands of bright young minds on pathways to success.
As of March 2014:
- More than 100,000 underprivileged girls have been educated and empowered by Project Nanhi Kali
- 9,300 disadvantaged youth have graduated from Mahindra Pride Schools with employable skills and good jobs
- 7,000 Mahindra All India Talent Scholars have pursued vocational diploma courses at Government polytechnic colleges
- Mahindra Search for Talent scholarship, which rewards excellence in academics, has been set up in 37 institutions in India
The K.C. Mahindra Education Trust is a registered public Charitable Trust under the Bombay Trusts Act, 1950, and the Mahindra Group is the main donor to its investment portfolio.
