Awards assigned to classic cars like the Lancia Astura Cabriolet and the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, but also to an icon with a futuristic design, the Modulo

Turin, May 27th 2019 - From classic to modern, Pininfarina design once again wins hands down at the Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance. During last weekend’s traditional walkway in the parks of Villa d’Este and Villa Erba, category prizes and honorable mentions were awarded for the eight classes into which the participants were divided. The BMW Group Italia Trophy, established by the public through a referendum, was given to a 1938 Lancia Astura Cabriolet IV Series, a powerful four-seater cabriolet designed by Pinin Farina at the turn of the Second World War, revealing a stylistic change in progress and anticipating visions and typical trends of the 50s.

For the category Swinging Sixties category: the sky's the limit the prize went to the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder SWB Pinin Farina (1961), while another Ferrari by Pininfarina, the 275 GTB Competition Berlinetta Pininfarina (1966) received the award for the best sound promised by the title of the edition, "The Symphony of Engines", and was also recognized as a model with the "most iconic design" ("Most Iconic Car").

Another exceptional piece of the event was the futuristic Ferrari 512 S Modulo Pininfarina of 1970, elected "Most Exciting Design". Born as a pure object of research and become, by world acclaim, a work of art admired for its avant-garde conceptual solutions, it returned to the scene at Villa d'Este after three years of restoration.
