Anand Mahindra appointed Chairman of National Safety Council

Mumbai: Mr. Anand Mahindra, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra has been appointed Chairman of the National Safety Council by the Government of India. Mr. Mahindra takes over from Dr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, who led the National Safety Council for over three years. The National Safety Council (NSC) was set up by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India (GOI) in 1966 as an autonomous body to generate, develop and sustain a voluntary movement on Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) at the national level.
