August 17, 2019, Colombo, Sri Lanka: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., a part of the US$ 20.7 billion Mahindra Group, today expanded its global footprint with the inauguration of its local automotive assembly plant at Welipenna, near Colombo, Sri Lanka. Christened Mahindra Ideal Lanka Pvt. Ltd. this assembly plant is in collaboration with Ideal Motors of Sri Lanka.
Mahindra Lifespaces signs MOU to set up a SEZ in Sri Lanka
Mumbai: The Board of Investments of Sri Lanka and Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Limited (MLDL) signed an MOU to develop a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Sri Lanka at Katunayeke today. This was in the presence of a high powered delegation to Sri Lanka led by Hon’ble Shri Jairam Ramesh, Minister of State for Commerce, with Indian Industrialists and Heads of Indian Corporates, including Mr. Arun Nanda, Vice Chairman, Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Limited. The SEZ will stretch over 65 acres and will be for mixed-use development.
