In a world with over 6,900 languages, why should coding be limited to just one? Introducing BHAML(Bharat Markup Language), the innovative platform that revolutionizes technology education and programming languages by empowering you to code, create, and innovate in your native language.
Across our diverse nation, the dominance of English in technology education has created a significant obstacle for rural communities in India. With a staggering 6,900 languages worldwide and India alone having 27 mother tongues and 1,645 dialects, the odds are stacked against aspiring learners. But, BHAML is here to bridge this formidable gap.
Recognized as the best programming language, BHAML offers an intuitive editor tool that liberates individuals from the confines of English-based coding languages. It generates two files - a distinct .BHAML file and a standard .html file - both of which are compatible with every browser. By effortlessly coding in their native languages, students and technology enthusiasts can finally express their creativity and build web pages that reflect their unique cultural identities. Currently, BHAML supports 11 Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Gujarati, Bangla, Punjabi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Assamese.
The creators of BHAML faced a fair share of challenges, from incorporating diverse Indian languages into it to connecting with schools and students during the pandemic. However, they persevered by expanding this language’s capabilities and embarking on the BHAML Yatra. Covering over 5,000 kilometres, they engaged with 33+ schools/institutions, with over 2,000 teachers eagerly attending introductory sessions.
Today, more than 50,000 students regularly utilize the platform and many schools across India are integrating it into their curricula. Its impact has been so profound that discussions are now underway to extend BHAML's reach beyond India, including languages like Maori in New Zealand.
But BHAML's ambitions don't stop there. Its roadmap is filled with dreams of incorporating all 27 regional Indian languages, becoming the go-to platform for native language coding. The vision extends to international languages such as French, Dutch, and Maori. Additionally, BHAML envisions the inclusion of other programming languages like CSS, Javascript, C, and C++, paving the way for comprehensive technology education.
