JV Will Help Deliver Farm Tech Prosperity

Mahindra Agri Solutions Ltd (MASL) is the first Indian company to have a Joint Venture (JV) with Sumitomo Corporation Group from Japan that has deep relationships with large Japanese crop protection innovation R&D houses. The two companies will have a 60% and a 40% stake respectively, in their new venture.

India loses nearly 40% of its total agricultural production to pest attacks and diseases. Mahindra’s strong farmer connect, widespread domestic distribution and agricultural expertise, and Sumitomo’s strong ties with large Japanese crop protection innovation companies, is expected to be favorable for the farmers in the country. The JV will help farmers manage pest and insect-related challenges, and will also substantially help raise their incomes.

Festival Time Offers You Can’t Refuse

It’s the festive season, and Mahindra & Mahindra is giving customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Pune, a reason to celebrate. The new Vehicle Acquisition Scheme allows car-owners to take on lease Mahindra vehicles for up to five years. In the next phase, the offer will be extended to 19 more cities.

From recently launched Marazzo to mid-sized SUV Scorpio, from entry-level sports utility vehicle KUV100 to premium XUV500, the lease option will be available on Mahindra’s personal portfolio of vehicles. Customers can now own a KUV 100NXT for just Rs. 13,499 per month or XUV500 for for just Rs. 32,999 a month.

VS Parthasarathy, Group Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “Our leasing model is a category creating product offering, which aims at bringing in a new class of customers, including professionals and small businessmen, among others. The idea is to provide customers with an experience of owing a vehicle without problems of ownership and maintenance. I am confident that leasing will gain more currency and the penetration levels will move in line with global trends.”

While the vehicle will be registered in the name of the customer, the ownership will be with the leasing companies Orix and ALD Automotive, provided through M&M dealerships. Any problems relating to owning the vehicle ranging from insurance, accident damage, roadside assistance and resale guarantee will be taken care by M&M. After the lease expires, customers can buy the vehicle from M&M at a pre-determined price.

Smooth Sailing with the New Seahawk

When ships are on the high seas, the most essential requirements for the engines and generators are fuel efficiency, superior technology and robust tracking system for safety and service alerts. Making its debut with these features is the new Seahawk series from Mahindra Powerol. Until now, Mahindra Powerol has been among the leading manufacturers of diesel generators and industrial engines for the Indian market, and is aiming to become the front-runner as an engine partner for the marine construction equipment market in India.

The new Seahawk series is being designed at the Company’s R&D facility in Chennai and manufactured in Pune and Nagpur. The Group has set up sales and service centers, and appointed spare marine dealers around the country’s coastal areas. Customers also have access to a cost-effective, comprehensive and annual maintenance scheme ‘Seahawk Care’.

MWC Sprints for the Girl Child

Around 4 am on Sunday, October 14, the atmosphere at Mahindra World City (MWC), Chennai, was charged with excitement and emotion. The sixth edition of the MWC edition of Marathon 2018, had a record turnover of 9000. There were 5,000 participants from over 60+ corporates and 70+ foreign nationals, representing nine countries. Young runners to septuagenarians and those who came to cheer were at the venue to support a cause dear to our heart – education of the girl child. Tamil actor Arya also joined in, much to the crowd’s delight!

The Marathon 2018, flagged off near Paranur Station, traced its route past water bodies and scenic trails inside the World City. The 42 km, 21 km and 10 km races attracted professionals, and the 5 km, 3 km and 1 km ‘Fun Runs’ were customized for beginners.

Munish, Sivanantham and Elijah Kipruto Kemei came first, second and third respectively in the 42 km race. In the 42 km for women marathon, Vasantha came first, and Padmapriya Ashok took home the silver.

Runners Chetan and Nachiket, who participated in the 21 km run were ecstatic, “The MWC Marathon 2018 was well-organized with great weather to boost! We were able to time our best so far. We will definitely be back for the next edition and hope to be in the longer races next year!”

The contagious action spilled over on to social media as well, with hashtags #MWCMarathon and #SooperCitySooperLife trending on Twitter.
