BusinessMarazzo Launched To Strongly Positive Reviews

The bold new face of Mahindra’s automotive line-up, the Marazzo MPV, was launched on September 3, at a stylish event in Nashik, which was attended by leading media organizations from across the country.

Marazzo is Mahindra’s first truly global automotive product, engineered in Detroit and at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai. The shark-inspired styling of Marazzo is created by Pininfarina, Italy and the Mahindra Design Studio in Mumbai.

Top automotive media from across the country gave positive reviews to Marazzo with the consensus being, ‘It is the best Mahindra ever’. They particularly praised the vehicle’s styling, interiors, ride, comfort, fit and finish.

Group Chairman Anand Mahindra called the “Introduction of Marazzo a defining moment in the automotive journey of Mahindra not only in India, but globally as well,” adding that “Marazzo will be transformative for the Group much like the Scorpio or XUV 500 in the past.” He believes that in future every Mahindra will be the product of such global collaboration.

Congratulating the team behind Marazzo, Dr. Pawan Goenka, MD, M&M Ltd., tweeted, “I wish to express my gratitude to the team that has worked so hard for four years in Detroit, Mumbai, at MRV and in Nashik to bring out this product. I salute you for what you have delivered #MahindraMarazzo.”

Marazzo is available at Mahindra dealerships pan India, starting from a very competitive price of Rs. 9.99 lakh for the base version. The vehicle is available in four variants — M2, M4, M6, M8 — and in six colors — Mariner Maroon, Poseidon Purple, Aqua Marine, Iceberg White, Oceanic Black and Shimmering Silver.

GlobalMahindra Aerospace Flies High in Africa

Mahindra Aerospace is flying high in Africa with Botswana’s Major Blue Air becoming the first customers for its new Airvan 10. This is Mahindra’s next gen, 10-seater, turbo-prop aircraft that just received certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Botswana is now the Airvan’s single largest airport operation. The Airvan 10 follows the footsteps of Mahindra’s piston-engine, 8-seater, Airvan 8, that operates in 29 countries.

The FAA certified that the Mahindra Airvan is the most suitable aircraft to fly tourists into Botswana to enjoy the wide and panoramic beauty of the country. Botswana, a landlocked country in Southern Africa, has landscape defined by the Kalahari Desert and Okavango Delta, and is home to several migratory birds and various species of animals.

The Airvan 10 has been Type certified in six countries including the USA and Australia and is an ideal upgrade for most operators who need added seating capacity and cost-effective solutions. Major Blue Air, having had a profitable experience with its existing Airvan fleet chose to be the first worldwide customer of the Airvan 10. While Mahindra Aerospace is based in India, its subsidiary Gipps Aero that manufactures the aircraft is based in Australia.

BusinessBlockchain Tech to Tackle Pesky Calls & SMS

Tech Mahindra has partnered with Microsoft to tackle the growth of Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC) in India using advanced new Blockchain technology.

The companies have been jointly working with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) ever since it established a “Do Not Disturb” (DND) registry, which has more than 23 crore subscribers. However, unregistered telemarketers continue to spam customers, obtaining their consent through fraudulent tactics.

Rajesh Dhuddu, Global Practice Leader, Blockchain, Tech Mahindra, said, “This Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)-based solution will enable enterprises to stop financial frauds and perpetration of misleading financial information by unregistered telecom marketers who use the SMS service of telcos. Tech Mahindra is focused on solving the real business problems of our customers and partner ecosystem by investing in next gen technologies like Blockchain under the TechMNxt charter.”

Based on Blockchain technology and built on Microsoft Azure, this DLT-based solution brings all the relevant parties in the ecosystem on to Blockchain, helping telecom service providers and telemarketers take care of preference registration, consent acquisition, dynamic preference setting and obtain other compliances in line with TRAI regulations.

Tech Mahindra is also making a foray into East Europe, acquiring Czech-based engineering services firm Inter Informatics, Prague for USD 6.27 million through Mahindra Engineering Services Ltd (Europe).

This is the third acquisition by Tech Mahindra over the last couple of years. Earlier this year, the company bought a 17.5% stake in the US-headquartered telecom software development firm, Altiostar for USD 15 million. Last year, Tech Mahindra bought US-based healthcare tech firm, CJS Solutions Group to build on its healthcare portfolio.

LifestyleMahindra Offers Chennai a ‘Sooper City Sooper Life’

Mahindra Lifespaces has just launched its newest residential project, Lakewoods, at Mahindra World City (MWC), Chennai. This premium residential development located within the 1,500-acre integrated green township will be the fifth residential project in MWC Chennai, after Sylvan County, Iris Court, Nova and Aqualily.

Lakewoods will have nine, 14-storied towers, with 747 apartments in 2-BHK and 3- BHK configuration spread across 9.33 acres. The new development overlooks the picturesque Kolavai Lake on one side, with verdant hills and a reserve forest on the other. It will be developed in three phases over six years.

Following the success of MWC Chennai, Mahindra Lifespaces Developers have also submitted a master plan to the Government of Rajasthan to set up residential and social infrastructure projects in Mahindra World City Jaipur.

The MWC in Jaipur is spread across 3,000 acres and is a public private partnership between the Mahindra Group and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation.

Rise for GoodWater, Water Everywhere, So Many Drops to Drink!

It’s a relief for the villagers of Tembha, a hamlet near Shahapur, Maharashtra, as they no longer have to walk miles to fill a bucket of water. Neither do they have to rely on taps at the local railway station. Credit goes to Mahindra Logistics, who have set up a water project in the village. They are also conducting various developmental activities from infrastructure development, to education and health as well as vocational guidance to help villagers improve the quality of their lives.

Through a pipeline connected to the nearest source, the water will be collected in 20,000 liter tanks that have been installed in the village. The initiative will benefit around 75 families in Tembha and is a permanent solution to the severe water scarcity in the area.

Reshma Amle, Sarpanch, Tembha Village, said, “We are grateful to Mahindra Logistics as they have been helping us to improve the social, educational and medical infrastructure in our village. We had to walk 2-3 kilometers, every single day of our lives, to fetch just one bucket of water. We will tremendously benefit from this project.”

As a part of its CSR initiative, Mahindra Logistics had adopted the village last year. Pirojshaw Sarkari, CEO, Mahindra Logistics, said, “At Mahindra Logistics, we strongly believe in giving back to society. Through humanitarian, environmental and educational initiatives, we endeavor to transform the lives of villagers in a positive manner. The water project is just one such step towards this transformation.”
