Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Ltd. has signed an agreement with the Maharashtra government to develop a world-class tourist destination at Murud, in Raigad, 150 km from Mumbai. The partnership will significantly improve the lives of local communities, contribute to economic growth and attract key investments for the state.
From glittering white-sand beaches like Kashid and Murud to the formidable fort of Janjira built inside the sea, the location has the makings of an ideal international attraction and is touted to become a tourism role model for India.
The ambitious project under the aegis of Maharashtra government’s tourism policy will be executed by Mahindra Lifespaces' subsidiary Deep Mangal Developers who are all set to transform 1,300 acres of land in the scenic Konkan belt.
Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, said, “At Mahindra we always strive to drive positive change in the community through our businesses. This new initiative by Mahindra Lifespaces will help put Murud firmly on the global tourism map. It will also catalyze the growth of the local tourism industry, creating new jobs and business opportunities along the way.”
