TechM & AT&T – Making the 5G-enabled Future a Reality

5G and its associated technologies have the power to transform our digital lives with their immense speed and capabilities. And Tech Mahindra will enable AT&T to migrate to the most advanced software-defined fifth generation of cellular wireless technology. The multi-year contract worth USD 1 billion from AT&T Inc., is among the biggest deals ever to be signed by Tech Mahindra.

According to a recent report from KPMG International, the speed and power of 5G will unlock USD 4.3 trillion in economic value across the globe.

As part of our TechMNxt charter, TechM is betting big on 5G — the network of the future and is focused on technology-led innovation to enable digital transformation for our customers globally.”

This partnership will help AT&T Inc. optimize their core operations and modernize the internal network applications, which in turn will reduce the cost of ownership. AT&T Inc. and Tech Mahindra will also collaborate on integrating several world-class technologies and platforms in areas like artificial intelligence, DevOps, data analytics to improve the agility in rolling out networks of the future.


New Washington DC Office Marks Mahindra’s 25th Year in the USA

The Mahindra Group celebrated its 25 years of operations in the US on September 9, with the inauguration of a new Group office in Washington, DC. Till date, the Company has invested USD 1 billion in the U.S. market and is focused on doubling its investment with the growth of its automotive operations.

The new office will strengthen Mahindra’s association with its American partners and boost the existing businesses in a diverse array of industries, including automotive manufacturing, farm equipment production, IT services, sustainable transportation, multipurpose aircraft development, and equipment financing services.

The Mahindra Group has a consolidated presence in the United States, operating with a wide network of associates, 10 factories and assembly centers, 790 tractor and auto dealerships, and 30 IT development and delivery centers.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, said, “Establishing this new Washington, D.C., office is an important element of our U.S. growth strategy. We are proud to reaffirm our commitment to creating American jobs and meaningfully contribute to the local economies and communities in which we operate.”

In fact, Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) is keeping to its commitment to work for the betterment of local communities MANA has awarded more than USD 550,000 in cash and equipment to 19 organizations operating in Detroit, Flint, and Pontiac in the last five years through the Mahindra Urban Agriculture Grant Program.

The Mahindra Group is also partnering with major U.S. universities to roll out community empowerment and educational road maps, reaffirming its Shared Value approach of contributing to the development of local communities and the environment it operates in.


Riding the New Wave of Green Consciousness

It is probably the country’s largest afforestation drive -- over 1.5 lakh saplings planted in a single day, by 5,000 volunteers. This is taking Mahindra World City (MWC), Chennai, closer to its vision of Sustainable Urbanization.

MWC’s partners for this noble cause were The Times of India and Hero MotoCorp. D. Jayakumar, Minister of Fisheries, Personnel & Administrative Reforms, Government of Tamil Nadu was the Chief Guest at the plantation drive, and W.V. Raman, former Indian cricketer and current coach of the India women’s national cricket team, was the Guest of Honor.

Vijayan Janardhanan, Business Head, Mahindra World City, Chennai, said, “Mahindra World City, Chennai is a pioneering integrated city built on the ethos of Livelihood, Living and Life. The City has been designed for holistic and balanced community living at one with nature. It is heartening to see thousands of volunteers come together for the cause of the environment in one of India’s most impactful urban afforestation drives.”

MWC Chennai is also India’s first Indian Green Building Council Gold (Stage 1) certified Green Township, and home to corporate India’s first operational Special Economic Zone (SEZ). It is also a hive of sustainable activities since its inception. Some of the pioneering initiatives undertaken in the area include the use of an off-grid solar power plant for generating 1,16,000 units of clean electrical energy annually, a bio-CNG plant to fuel buses and power streetlights in the vicinity.

The tree plantation drive, in its second year, has seen over three lakh trees being planted across 150 acres at MWC Chennai as part of efforts to grow the city’s green cover. Through this unique afforestation drive, MWC Chennai is not only delivering on its promise of 'Sooper City, Sooper Life’ but also reducing the carbon footprint of the surrounding areas.


Mahindra Open Drive 2019 Heading to Goa

It’s time to roll down the windows, amp up the car stereo and let the wind in your hair blow all that stress away. Mahindra’s latest cultural outreach experience - #MahindraOpenDrive, a four-day road trip promises to be an epic experience of off-roading trails, curated music, delicious food, and more.

Celebrating mobility, the spirit of freedom and the simple joys accompanying it, #MahindraOpenDrive will commence simultaneously from Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Delhi on November 6, 2019.

The drive will bring together people from diverse cultural backgrounds who share a common love for adventure and help them rekindle connections. The scenic trip combined with a local food menu and exciting en route activities will end with a festival in Goa on November 8 and 9, 2019, at the Bandodkar Grounds in Panjim.

The finale will feature scintillating cultural performances by international and Indian artists that will make this trip one for the bucket list. The festival will also host a variety of fundraisers, a souk, an exhibition of Goa’s culture, installation artists and a delectable food fiesta.

Through specially curated cultural outreach programs, the Mahindra Group has been sparking conversations and connecting with diverse communities. This Open Drive will be followed by another cultural fiesta, the Mahindra Kabira Festival also in November. This two-day program will celebrate mystic-poet Kabir’s teachings through the unrivaled power of music, literature and arts in the serene ghats of Varanasi.

Mahindra also hosts the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META), the country’s most prestigious theatre awards that celebrate the best in Indian theatre, the five-day long Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival that revolves around a fair that recognizes local craftsmanship, and the Mahindra Blues Festival that brings together the best blues musicians in the world under one roof in Mumbai.
