Mumbai, July 9, 2019: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a part of the US $ 20.7 billion Mahindra Group, recently crossed a significant milestone, rolling out the 1 millionth vehicle from each of its 3 automotive manufacturing plants in Chakan, Zaheerabad and Haridwar. With this, the Automotive manufacturing facilities in these three locations joined the 1 million club along with the company’s Nashik and Kandivali plants.

Speaking on this milestone, Rajan Wadhera, President - Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, "This achievement is a significant moment in Mahindra's automotive journey. It tangibly demonstrates our spirit of accepting no limits and the relentless effort put in by each of our people across the three manufacturing facilities. We are committed to the Make-in-India initiative and this millionth vehicle roll-out across three different facilities is a fine example of our manufacturing excellence and operational efficiency."

According to Mr. Vijay Kalra, Chief of Manufacturing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., "The state-of-the-art facilities and lean manufacturing processes at Chakan, Zaheerabad and Haridwar played pivotal roles in achieving this production milestone within our planned timelines. About Zaheerabad Plant

The plant journey started back in 1985. M&M joined the hands in 1990 and became 100% subsidiary of M&M in 1995. The Mahindra product portfolio expanded to include UV & 3Ws in addition to LCV. Cumulative plant production crossed 1 lac vehicles in 2005 & 5 lac vehicles in 2013. After successful launch of Jeeto in 2015 volumes started growing at a faster pace and the plant crossed significant milestone of 1 million vehicles in April-2019.While the earlier Milestone of 5 Lac vehicles was achieved in 2013, the next 5 lac vehicles production was achieved in just the last 6 years. FY19 has also been a remarkable year for the plant as the volumes crossed 1 lac milestone for the first time, in a particular financial year.

About Haridwar Plant

Mahindra Haridwar plant was inaugurated on 8th December, 2005 to cater the need of the customers from Northern & Eastern part of the country. The Plant began its Manufacturing Operations in January 2006 and by the end of 2018 the facility started manufacturing a range of vehicles – Bolero, Scorpio, Pickup, Champion, Alfa, eAlfa and GIO and currently it produces 4 models & 44 variants.It took the Haridwar plant 8 years to achieve the first 5 lac vehicle milestone, while the next 5 lac vehicle was produced within just 5 years.
