“Stepping into truck retail sales was a leap into a space where women simply did not exist. I was the first woman working in the field in this business. The challenges were immediate and real: male-dominated sites, remote locations, and even basic infrastructural gaps like the absence of proper washrooms. Every day demanded resilience, not just to perform, but to belong.

Yet those years in the field became some of the most valuable learning experiences of my career. They exposed me to real customers, real challenges and real business complexity. They toughened me, sharpened my perspective and built a grit that has stayed with me ever since.

A pivotal shift came when I moved to the Head Office. It felt like a new beginning and also a space where I needed to prove myself all over again.

That is where my manager, Projeshkar, played a defining role in shaping my journey.

He saw potential in me before I fully saw it in myself. Instead of limiting me to my defined KRAs, he consistently encouraged me to take on projects beyond my comfort zone. From digital initiatives to enterprise business projects, he trusted me with work that carried real visibility and impact.

His belief in stretching talent rather than confining it changed my trajectory. It helped me develop an owner’s mindset: to take accountability, approach every project with intention and deliver outcomes that truly matter.

Looking back, my rise has been shaped by resilience built in the field and empowerment received at the Head Office. What began as a challenging entry into an unfamiliar world became a journey of confidence, growth and self-belief, strengthened by the trust of a leader who chose to invest in my potential.”
