Empowering the Visually Impaired with Tandem Cycling

The morning of September 21, was quite different for 15 riders, also comprising visually impaired riders, who enthusiastically participated in a cycling event organized by Club Mahindra in association with The Blind Welfare Association, India. The activity was organized to increase awareness about inclusivity and equal opportunity for the visually impaired.

Under the Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd (MHRIL) mission, S.M.I.L.E.S (Social Movement to Improve Life Experiences), the event kick-started at 7 in the morning at Mahindra Tower, Worli. The cyclists had to peddle their way till NCPA, South Mumbai and return to the Worli office of Mahindra by 11 am, where the cyclists were welcomed by other employees of the Company, who interacted with the visually impaired cyclists and spent some time bonding with them.

Kavinder Singh, CEO and MD, Mahindra Holidays, tweeted, “Inclusivity is a value we hold dear @clubmahindra. Our employees spent time with visually-impaired on tandem cycle in Mumbai. We employ more than 60 specially-abled people at our resorts who are our most precious assets @MahindraRise @anandmahindra.”
