Mahindra racing to season 6

We're getting ready for the start of the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship and, yesterday evening, Mahindra Racing announced Jerome d’Ambrosio and Pascal Wehrlein are to stay with the team for Season 6. At a special event in Hockenheim, our drivers helped unveil the electrifying M6Electro livery and also revealed the team’s new long-term technology partnership with ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Feast your eyes on the stunning M6Electro which was unveiled with an electric themed photoshoot and stay tuned to our social channels for special STRAIGHT TORQUE podcast episodes. It’s time to find out if Jerome and Pascal are still in the honeymoon phase or if they really know how to push their teammate’s buttons!

Last, but by no means least, Nick Heidfeld stays with the Mahindra Racing family in his advisory role and as the team’s official test and reserve driver, while Sam Dejonghe remains as reserve and sim driver.

And now here it from the teams

"I am thrilled Jerome and Pascal will both return to the team for season six. Last season was one of the most challenging seasons in Formula E history in terms of competition but we believe we have one of the strongest driver line-ups on the grid to help us achieve our championship ambitions. I am also delighted to welcome ZF to the Mahindra Racing family. We now have one of the most successful global players in the field of e-mobility at our side. We were highly impressed by the performance of the ZF driveline in the most recent Formula E season and together we will be even better positioned to continue celebrating success."

"I really want to thank Mahindra Racing for last year and I am super happy to continue with the team. We had an amazing start to season five and started to show the potential we have working together as one team. We know the second half of the season was challenging, but the fact that we are all sticking together for season six means we can come back stronger and consistently fight at the front for wins. I am really excited to be back and cannot wait to get the championship battle underway.

"I am very happy to continue my relationship with Mahindra Racing. Last year was my rookie season and there were a lot of positives to take from that and build on for my second Formula E season. There is a very positive and upbeat mood in the team as we’ve been working hard over the summer break and I’m really looking forward to working with the team again."

Mahindra Racing is delighted to welcome engineering giant ZF Friedrichshafen AG to the family. We celebrated in Hockenheim with Jerome and Pascal as ZF comes onboard as Official Powertrain Partner.

The Batmobile-esque Gen2 race car returns for season six of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and we revealed our M6Electro livery with a special electric themed photoshoot. The team has adapted and evolved its popular red, white and blue hues to stand out. Now we’ve brought it to life – and become the first motorsport team to use fibre optic lighting – what do you think?

Ahead of the season opener in Saudi Arabia on 22 November 2019, the team returns to the Ricardo Tomo circuit in Valencia, Spain, for pre-season testing for the third time in Formula E history. We’ve had good test sessions in the buildup to season six, covered more mileage than in previous years and expect to be competitive going into round one. The #64 and #94 M6Electro will be on track from 15–18 October 2019 for two test sessions each day, so keep an eye out on our social media channels for regular updates.
