Mr. Rohit Thakur

With over 30 years of industry experience, Rohit Thakur is currently the Group Chief Human Resources Officer and a Member of the Group Executive Board at the Mahindra Group. In this capacity, he leads the People & Culture function across the Group, ensuring strategic alignment with business priorities, fostering global growth, driving transformational leadership, enhancing competitiveness, and establishing the company as an Employer of Choice.

Prior to his current role, he served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for the Auto and Farm Sector at M&M.

Before Mahindra, Rohit held distinguished HR leadership roles across globally renowned organizations. He served as the CHRO at Accenture India, where he oversaw talent strategy, HR service delivery, and operations for over 200,000 employees across all segments. He also worked at Microsoft as the CHRO for India, where he spearheaded large- scale talent and cultural transformation across all entities. Rohit has also spent 11 years at GE, holding diverse HR leadership roles across multiple businesses, including Energy, Engineering, Capital, Corporate and Aircraft Engines, in both India and the United States. Additionally, he has worked with organizations such as Eicher, Cadence Design Systems, and Bausch & Lomb.

Alongside his experience in large and established organizations, Rohit has also worked with two startups. He was the CHRO of LEAD School, a startup, with a Mission to transform India by providing ‘Excellent Learning for Every Child’ in Affordable Private Schools, where he led the strategic & operational HR agenda. Rohit has also been the CHRO of the fintech startup, Paytm.

Rohit is a Commerce graduate from SRCC, Delhi, and holds an MBA in HR from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
